Elephants returning home

At Thrissur (Kerala - India) the famous Vadakunathan temple arranges an annual feast for the temple Elephants. This year it was held somewhere  on the 17th July. Although we could not witness the event as such but we were fortunate to be there to see the guests off.

Finally ready to start the return journey.

  13. While the pooram by itself is a spectacular event, the hard ships the elephants have to undergo during transportation to & fro as well during the [pooram is really sad.

  16. So cute, really loved all the pictures. elephants are such majestic animals, and yet so tender, and hard working too.
I liked the way the elephant climbed the step to get in to the lorry. I am sure you must have felt so blessed to be there at that time to capture it.
It has been a long time, how are you doing?
